On May 15th, the 13th Global Geographic Information Developers Conference (WGDC2024), sponsored by Taibo Network and co-sponsored by Taibo Think Tank, opened in Beijing with the theme of "Redefining the Value of Data". Gathered thousands of industry experts, industry users, innovative enterprises and other industry elites to discuss the technological development and application innovation in the era of spatio intelligence. At the opening ceremony of the conference, the "Innovation Awards 2024 Annual Innovation Power List" was released, which has been developed and accumulated for twelve years and has become a comprehensive award with professional influence in the fields of new technology and aerospace geographic information. At the conference, TomTom was invited to participate in the Innovation Trends Summit and the Location Services and Map Ecology Forum. Bob Wang, Sales Director of TomTom Enterprise Solutions in China, introduced the commercialization of TomTom Orbis maps during his keynote speech on "Mapping the Future, Utilizing TomTom Orbis Maps to Layout the Globe" this year. In 2023, TomTom launched Orbis map, which integrates the advantages of high quality and consistency, flexibility and ownership, and broad data coverage. Its additional value comes from detectors, sensors (SDO), survey vehicles, and collected data. TomTom has over 70 million kilometers of road maps for navigation globally, realizing 235 countries with navigation-level coverage and real-time traffic information for 84 countries/regions worldwide. It can also handle billions of trajectory points every 30 seconds. One -fifth of the global roads provide real -time road conditions for Tomtom. TomTom serves global customers in the automotive, transportation and logistics, sharing economy and travel, and technology industries with their mapping needs. For example, TomTom provides data maps and real-time traffic for Huawei's Petal Maps.
Sally Zhong, Customer Service Director for TomTom Enterprise Solutions in China, provided a detailed introduction to the advantages and future applications of TomTom Orbis maps in her keynote speech titled "Exploring TomTom Orbis Maps in Depth, Leading the Future." She pointed out that relying on its own data, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), route planning and real-time traffic conditions, interactive maps and other advantages, TomTom Orbis maps have continued to grow into a more outstanding map. It’s expected that by 2025, TomTom will have a 40% market share in the European navigation software market. In the current era, the map-making industry changing rapidly, and creating a world map requires mobilizing global resources.
